Congratulations to Les Shelly of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1935 Harley Davidson VL.
Les has owned this Harley for about 4 years. It was built by George Hood. He also owns a 1920 Harley and ownes vintage cars.
Les said that the bike is a mostly stock aside from the paint. The Harley Davidson VL came with Consistant Accelleration Cams in it's 82 cubic inch engine.
Les is co-owner of Action Gear, a Costa Mesa company that manufactures landing gear parts for the aircraft industry. Les also manufactures Cams for Harley Davidson VL's and JD's as a side business.
It was a close vote, three other bikes were tied for second place today, a 1965 BMW R69S, a 1981 Suzuki GS1100X drag bike and a 1951 Ariel Red Hunter 350.
