Huntington Beach, Calif. - Two minutes of rain cut our meet short today. The weather started out questionable, yesterday I thought that we wouldn't even have an opportunity to meet. But the rain forecast kept getting pushed later in the day and it started out great. 37 people braved the rain to show off their rides.

Bike of the Month - Rich Romano

Congratulations to Rich Romano of Yorba Linda for winning Bike of the Month with his 1972 Hodaka Model 94 Wombat. Rich won the Bike of the Month plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys. www.RussBrown.com.

This is a bike Rich has wanted since he was a kid, finally he could afford one and started this restoration two years ago

Second Place - Jeff McCoy

Jeff McCoy of Huntington Beach won Second place with his 1975 Norton Commando 850 Mark III. A very strong contender, Jeff only lost by one vote.

There will be plenty of opportunities for him to bring it back and win. Nearly every bike Jeff brings is a winner, he's been coming to this meet since the beginning in 2004.

Jeff seems to favor the rainy weather, he won Bike of the Month last February with his 1950 Norton ES2. That meet was also cut short by rain. February 2019 Bike of the Month

Third Place - Angelo Tafarella

Angelo Tafarella of Garden Grove took Third place with his Rokon. I didn't get an opportunity to talk with Angelo about his bike, and as you can see the rain started just as I snapped this shot. Hopefully I'll get the full story when he brings it back and wins.

Angelo always has something interesting to bring, whether it's a custom hot rod or a Craftsman riding mower with a KZ1000 engine, it's always something unique.

Angelo also won Bike of the Month back in October 2009 with his 1935 Triumph T80 Tiger Messenger.
