February Vintage Bike OC Meet
1938 Cotton

Huntington Beach, Calif. - If you weren't at the meet today you missed it. I showed up at 1:15 and there were already 30 bikes in the lot, by 2:00 there were 66 and by the end 152. Not quite a record, but a great meet! Steve "Carpy" Carpenter and The 59 Club showed up to help boost our numbers and we had a bunch of bikes we've never seen.

BAM: Breakdown and Legal Assistance for Motorcyclists
Once again Kitty Brooks, So Cal Marketing Rep for Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys, spent her Sunday afternoon with us promoting their BAM program. Learn more about it at: www.RussBrown.com

Watch for Motorcycles W4M
Nicole Heimerl was promoting her project W4M passing out free Watch for Motorcycles decals for your car windows. Nicole lost her son Austin Nicely in 2014 in a motorcycle accident. Nicole was accepting donations for decal production so that she can continue to spread the word. Follow her project on FaceBook at facebook.com/watchformotorcyclesW4M

Bike of the Month
Congratulations to Eugene Garcin & Mary Wong of Hollywood for winning Bike of the Month with their 1934 Cotton 500cc 25J. They won a Mr. Pete's Grill gift certificate provided by Mr. Pete's Grill. Nearly every time Eugene & Mary show up they win Bike of the Month. They now have joined the five time winner group:
February 2017 1934 Cotton 500cc 25J
July 2015 1968 BMW R69US
March 2014 1952 BMW R67/2
November 2012 1954 BMW R51/3
July 2012 1953 BMW R68

Second Place
Frank Colver of Costa Mesa came in Second with his 1930 BSA. Five time winner, Frank has won so many times in the past that he didn't stick around for photos or an interview. He's not used to coming in second place :) Frank was the first Bike of the Month winner in August 2007 when I took over running the meets. At that meet, we didn't have a vote, I just decided that his 1927 Sunbeam was the best and nobody argued.
February 2013 1938 AJS Flat Tracker
June 2012 1941 Indian 741 Military Scout
October 2008 1923 Harley Davidson WF
January 2008 1947 Matchless 500cc G80L
August 2007 1927 Sunbeam 350cc

Third Place
Rolando Ortiz of Laguna Niguel took Third place with his 1968 Bultaco TSS 250. Rolando may have taken Second Place, but he also brought his 1967 Aermacchi 350 which came in Fourth Place. The 1968 Bultaco is a (replica or tribute) to the TSS 250. It has a custom Frame Crafter frame, and a very rare magnesium front hub and brake assembly. He bought the bike from the original owner who raced it. It's now AHRMA Race ready.

Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this another great event and a special thanks to the team, Tom & Debbie Hopkins and Hobo John. I'll see you next month on March 12, 2017.

Keep On Ridin',
Joe Kagerer
