Joe Kagerer - Organizer
I'm Joe Kagerer Organizer and webmaster for Vintage Bike OC. I took the reigns in 2007 when attendance was beginning to lighten up. I work as a full time Internet Application Developer in Orange County. Comparatively new to motorcycling, I started riding in 2000 and have ridden most days since then. I love running the event, meeting everyone and learning about the bikes. The photo on the right is with Bob Nichols of Bob Nichols Racing. I met Bob at the meet and we've been friends ever since. He started racing in 1940. Bob Nichols and Joe Kagerer

The Team - Debbie, Tom & Hobo
Debbie & Tom Hopkins
Tom & Debbie have been coming to the meet since 2009. The day we were ousted from Mossimo's, Debbie suggested Beach Burgers. Since that meet they have been helping with voting and organization. Tom is an Engineer and Debbie is a Teacher. Both are huge Kawasaki fans and vintage car owners. They are also involved with their son Andrew's business The Scooter Solution in Fountain Valley.

"Hobo" John Hoeinghause 1945-2017
Hobo has been into motorcycles his entire life. A retired machinist, he got his nickname from his lifestyle of riding his 1972 Harley across the country several times in the 70's. He still rides that Harley along with his 1932 Indian Scout, Bike of the Month April 2013, that shows up at most meets. He is always willing to help out with voting and setup. Sadly, John passed away on May 23, 2017. In Memoriam

Brian "Tink" Tinkler - Photos by Tink
Brian "Tink" Tinkler has been around motorcycles his entire life and recently retired from American Honda. He can be found all over So Cal shooting photos at events. He has shot hundreds of photos for this site, and has even run the meet a couple of times for me. He is also involved with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation Ride for Kids event. Check out his photos at www.PhotosByTink.com.

Formerly "Vintage Bike Night"
Started in June 2004 by Thomas Harper and Greg McBride as a way to get the large number of vintage machines in Orange County to be seen a little more, get a little exercise for them and a little fun for the owners. They plugged it pretty hard and got a very good turn out. The biggest turn out was a few months later with 41 vintage machines in attendance.

Originally called Vintage Bike Night, because we met on a weekday evening. This caused a problem during the winter months. Although the weather was nice enough to bring the bikes out, the daylight didn't cooperate with many of the vintage lighting systems. For this reason, the meet was moved to Sunday afternoon.

Rebirth as "Vintage Bike OC " August 2007
In August 2006, Joe Kagerer started attending the meets on Sunday afternoons. Anxious to help grow the group and help spread the word, he Joined just in time to find out that we had lost our domain. It had been squatted by an internet domain registry company. Not willing (or able) to pay their extortion fee to renew the Bike Night domain, he registered VintageBikeOC to host our site.

All are Welcome
Generally, "Vintage" refers to motorcycles 30 years old or older, while "Antique" refers to bikes at least 35 years old. Our group is very diverse. Anyone with an interest in vintage bikes is welcome to attend. Bring your favorite bike and show it off or your latest project and get some advice. We'll be there between 2 & 4. Hope to see you there.
