Congratulations to Hayden Roberts of Los Alamitos for winning Bike of the Month with his 1959/77 Triton custom.
Hayden came from Walsall England eight years ago and started this Triton project about three years ago. This bike is much more than just Norton and Triumph parts. In the traditon of cafe racers, parts came from many manufacturers.
It all starts with a 1959 Norton Wideline frame, add a 1977 Triumph 750 motor using a Unity Equipe (UK Company) converter kit and stop it with an MV Agusta front brake. It's not 100% European though, the rear brake is off a mid 70's Suzuki Waterbuffalo.
The engine uses a magnito so there's no need for a battery. The Tommasselli bars are mounted to Seeley Matchless racing triple trees. The exhust is custom built based on the Norton Manx GP system and the tank is Manx TT replica. One of my favorite details is the Vincent "STOP" tail light.
Meatball of Hell on Wheels helped out a lot on the build. Also Mike Jongblood "Mr Velocette" helped on the build.
I personally really like this bike, but that goes without saying, I like them all. Thank you Hayden for bringing it to our meet and hanging out long enough for the vote.
I shot a lot of photos in our January Gallery.
