Steve Davenport and his 1963 Honda CL72 Make: Honda Model: CL72 Country of Origin: Japan Engine: 250cc Twin Transmission: 4 speed Year: 1963 Owner: Steve Davenport City: Placentia		1963 Honda CL72 250cc Scrambler Congratulations to Steve Davenport of Placentia for winning Bike of the Month with his 1963 Honda CL72. Steve's bike nudged out four other favorites for first place. Steve has owned this 250cc Scrambler since 2005 however it's the same model that he rode when he was 15 around the orange groves of Placentia. Steve is the second owner of this bike. The previous owner was his neighbor who crashed it in 1967 and never got it rolling again. It took Steve 15 years to talk him out of the bike which was stored in boxes. Now after a complete restoration in 2005, Steve can once again ride it around what were once the orange groves of Placentia. See all the pictures in our May Gallery. The Bike of the Month contest is held monthly at the Vintage Bike OC meet. Qualifying motorcycles must be 30 years old or older. Former Bike of the Month winning bikes are not eligible to win again. Anyone attending the meet is eligible to enter a qualifying bike in the contest and vote for their favorite bike. The winning bike is chosen by a popular vote and is featured on the Home page for one month and in this feature article. The Bike of the Month articles are permanent content on the site.
