Huntington Beach, Calif. - The Second Sunday in May is always Mother's Day and we always get questioned about the meet. It's usually awesome weather but not as well attended due to the date. Today we had a great meet with 43 bikes, many first timers and lots to look at.

Just like last month, today we had very tight competition for Bike of the Month and a tie for Second place. Six bikes took the majority of the votes.

Bike of the Month - Fred Brown

Congratulations to Fred Brown of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1979 Honda CB-X.

Even though Fred lives right here in Huntington Beach and has been involved in motorcycles since he was 14 years old, this was the first time he's ever attended our meet. Call it beginner's luck, but we have many first time winners.

Second Place Tie - Mark Wing

Congratulations to Mark for tying for Second Place. I've known Mark personally for 15 years and we've ridden on many rides together through the KZRider Forum back in the day.

Mark's recent medical issues have confined him to a wheelchair, but it didn't stop his desire to ride. This CT70 is the second incarnation of a three-wheeler that would allow him to bring his chair along.

Mark is an inspiration to us all about determination and will.

Second Place Tie - Casey Moir

Congratulations to Casey Moir, he tied for second place.

This mini bike has a Yamaha YZ80 motorcycle that was manufactured starting in 1974 until it was replaced by the YZ85. I believe the YZ85 is still being produced today.

Throughout the history of our group, we've had several members that command attention every time they show up. Casey is one of those. Even though he's only attended a few meets, he has a rich history of car and motorcycle customization. This is the third month in a row where he's been in the top three.

Honorable Mentions
I believe these three bike all deserve honorable mention. Mainly because they garnered the majority of the remaining votes.

There was so much cool stuff to look at, Bill and Kevin Blaty brought two custom made reproduction tribute bikes, and Doug Rickertsen brought a cool Whizzer.

Multiple mini bikes, multiple singles, a few six cylinders! Today's meet had anything you could want.
