September Vintage Bike OC Meet
Moto Guzzi in Huntington Beach, CA Huntington Beach, Calif. - It was an absolutely beautiful day in Huntington Beach today with 25 very cool bikes. Ed Mitzner rode his 1929 Henderson KJ, which he's owned since 1968 and recently completed the restoration. This month we had an actual vote by attendees, and Ed's Henderson was named Bike of the Month. Greg McBride brought a fine Moto Guzzi with a sidecar, but he convinced his wife to drive the 59 Chevy lowrider. I'm not sure why she didn't ride in the sidecar, maybe because it doesn't have hydraulics... Jim Bradford showed up in his old truck again, but we'll let it go because he had 1942 Indian in the back. I'm glad that I wasn't in the position of choosing BotM there was just too much competition.

Jason Roberts, Magazine Editor for the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC.org) spoke to me regarding a VJMC booth in October. The VJMC is a national organization, with a very nice bi-monthly publication. Check the Events page for their upcoming West Coast National Rally, and the Links page for a link to the VJMC web site.

Thanks to all of you who came out and brought your bikes. It really makes my efforts worthwhile. We had many new faces and bikes, and I missed quite a few of the "regulars". It only leads me to believe that October will be Bigger and Better.

Keep On Ridin',
