January Vintage Bike OC Meet
Triton Brake Light

Huntington Beach, Calif. - A few clouds didn't keep anyone home today. It was a little cooler than normal today but the action was hot at Beach Burgers. Another record? When I counted it wasn't close, but I was told 95 bikes were counted today. I'm going with that number.

There were 28 bikes at 1:55pm, that was enough for a great meet. Bikes were parked on all sides of Beach Burgers. Debbie Hopkins who has been helping me with the voting, has also been advertising the meet on Craig's List. Well it seems to be paying off and we are having record turnouts.

I think that we had a lot of new people today. Only 50 people cast votes for Bike of the Month. Voting was very tight and all over the board. Only a few votes separated the first through third place.

First place went to Hayden Roberts from Los Alamitos for his 1959/77 Triton. Close behind him was Rich Craig of Norwalk with his slightly dirty 1966 Velocette. Third place went to bike #28, a pristine 1973 Moto Guzzi Eldorado.

A special thanks again to Debbie for helping with the voting ballots. Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this another great event. I'll see you again on February 13, 2011.

Keep On Ridin',
Joe Kagerer
