VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Nearly a perfect Mother's Day afternoon in HB. I thought making "No Event Parking" signs may make our KFC neighbors happy, but they weren't impressed, instead they attempted to take up all the spaces with two cars. A smaller turnout of 85 bikes made things more manageable and we ended up having a great meet.

I'm not sure what to do about KFC. I tried to explain to the guy that motorcyclists eat chicken too, but he was quite adamant about parking there. Oh well, if I can't explain how an extra 100 people in your lot is good for business, I'm not going to try.

Bike of the Month
Jim Bradford of Costa Mesa won first place with his 1954 Triumph Speed Twin 500. Jim won a Mr. Pete's Grill T-shirt and hat. Jim also won free entry to the Huntington Beach Concours d'Elegance. You can read all about his bike on our Bike of the Month page.

Second Place
Dan Cruse of Costa Mesa took second with his 1964 Honda CB160. Dan has owned the Honda for two years, and has had it running for one. He completely modified and restored the bike over the first year.

Third Place
Mark Reed of San Clemente took Third place with his 1970 Honda SL360. Mark has owned the bike for three years, it was a two year restoration project. The bike was built in 1969 and was the 14th SL360 off the assembly line. His bike is 100% original down to the last washer. The awesome paint was done by Lance Rowlette.
