Congratulations to Fred Brown of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1979 Honda CB-X.
Fred won a plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.
Today was Fred's first time at our meet, even though he's lived in Huntington Beach for a long time. He has been riding
motorcycles since he was 14 years old when he was given a Honda 65 to ride in the Las Vegas desert.
He's owned the CB-X for three years, and he recently finished the ground up restoration. It only has 595 miles on the clock since he finished it.
The paint is from the previous owner, but Fred went through the rest of the bike. With many updated parts including a big bore kit that
brings the engine up to the 1400cc neighborhood. He also added an electronic ignition and some crash bars imported from Germany that really set the bike off.
Fred is involved in the boating business and has lived all over the world. Tonight he sent me a photo of his Norton that he's currently working on that's sure to
be another Bike of the Month winner.
