VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - It seems like we may be rounding the Covid corner. Today we had an excellent meet on a awesome summer afternoon. People showed up early and there were 51 bikes at 2:00. John Zindler was helping me with the voting and counting, and he counted 77 bikes, but we had 85 votes so I think he missed a few. Every month it's getting better.

Bike of the Month - Jeff McCoy

Congratulations to Jeff McCoy of Huntington Beach for winning Bike of the Month with his 1930 Scott Flying Squirrel.

Jeff won the Bike of the Month plaque provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys. www.RussBrown.com.

Jeff has been a member of this group since it's inception, longer than me. He has a large collection of bikes and always draws a crowd with whatever he brings. Last month he came in Second Place with his 1975 Triumph Trident 750.

Jeff rarely sticks around long enough to be included in the vote, but he has won Bike of the Month twice in the past:

Second Place - Ernesto Quiroga

Ernesto Quiroga of Long Beach took for Second place with his 1968 Ducati 350D.

Ernesto just finished the restoration of his Ducati. He has also been a member of this group at least as long as I have and has won Bike of the Month four times in the past:

Third Place - Ken Morris

Ken Morris of Upland won Third place with his 1968 BMW R69US.

Ken bought this bike from Eugene Garcin (a seven time winner), and completely went through it from the ground up. Originally black, Ken painted it in a rarer blue color. A quote from Eugene today, "Ken has created a 100 point bike."

Like Jeff and Ernesto, Ken is also a multiple Bike of the Month winner:
