I guess we wanted to make Al Haskell from Newport Beach feel welcome today on his first time at our meet with his 1970 Triumph TR6.
Al is a retired Newport Beach Fireman who decided that since he was about to turn 74, wanted to ride a motorcycle again. I suggested that it may be a mid-life crisis. Al hadn't riden a motorcycle since 1954, when he would ride his friends BSA and Triumph. He owned a Mustang back then, I think the TR6 may have a little more giddy-up-and-go than that one had.
Al has only owned the bike about six weeks. He searched the internet for about six months before finding and buying this TR6 from a private party in Huntington Beach.
As far as he knows, it's nearly all original except for the paint. The restoration was done sometime in the 1990's and has a nice patina.
