July Vintage Bike OC Meet
Castañeda's's Mexican Food WD-40 Specialist Motorcycle

Huntington Beach, Calif. - It was a warm afternoon in HB today, we had a great meet despite some parking issues. Castañeda's Mexican Food is now open and everyone enjoyed their food and hospitality. 88 people fought the heat and brought out their bikes.

BAM: Breakdown and Legal Assistance for Motorcyclists

Bike of the Month
The voting for Bike of the Month was extremely close today. Five bikes took the majority of the votes and the top three bikes only differed by two votes each.

Congratulations to Oran Bloodsworth of Oceanside for winning Bike of the Month with his 1944 Indian Chief. Oran won Specialty Formulated Chain Lube provided by the WD-40 Company.

WD-40 now produces a line of specialty formulated motorcycle products WD-40 Specialist Motorcycle

Oran's Indian has been in his family for 50 years. Read all about the 1944 Indian Chief on our Bike of the Month page.

Second Place
Kirt Keller of Huntington Beach came in Second with his 1951 Ariel Square 4. Kirt has owned the bike for ten weeks, he bought it after it had been sitting in a warehouse for seven years. He went over the bike with a toothbrush and Simichrome™ polish, changed all the fluids, and the bike started right up.

Third Place
Mike Dunn of Riverside took Third place with his 1940 BMW R12. Mike owns Vintage German Motorycycles in Riverside. www.VintageGermanMotorcycles.com and has won Bike of the Month three times in the past:
November 2013 with his 1939 Zundapp KS600.
June 2013 with his 1937 Zundapp KS500.
March 2010 with his 1939 Indian Sport Scout.

Fourth Place Tie
I didn't mention this at the meet, but there was a tie for Fourth place. Roland Ortiz of Laguna Niguel with his 1968 Bultaco MK2 tied with Mike Guitierrez with his 1969 "Sandcast" Honda CB750. Any other month, any of these bikes could win.

There were so many cool bikes today, who could decide? Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this another great event and a special thanks to the team, Tom & Debbie Hopkins. I'll see you at the next meet on August 13, 2017.

Keep On Ridin',
Joe Kagerer
