Huntington Beach, Calif. - It was supposed to be the coldest day of the week with scattered showers in the morning. At 2:00 there were already 40 motorcycles at Beach Burgers, and by the end of the meet the official count was 86 bikes for what turned out to be a really great meet.
Bike of the Month Contest
Frank Colver of Newport Beach took First place with his 1938 AJS Flat Tracker.
Frank is no stranger to our group, he's been involved longer that me an this is Frank's fifth time winning the Bike of the Month contest.
Mike Jungblood aka Mr. Velocette took Second place with his 1950 Velocette MAC. Although Mike calls it a "mutt" it always seems to gather some votes. Some of the Velocette votes went to Mick Felder's bike parked next to his.
Finally a new member Gudy Lim of Monterey Park rode his 1966 BMW R50/2 over 40 miles to win Third place.
Thanks to everyone for showing up and making this another great event. A special thanks to Tom and Debbie Hopkins for helping with the ballots and voting and Brian Tinkler for helping to set up and shoot photos. I'll see you again on March 10, 2013.
