Huntington Beach, Calif. - A perfect March afternoon, the weather couldn't have been better. We had a record of 65 bikes before the meet started at 2:00. By the time it was over, 144 bikes showed up. This was not quite a record, but we are keeping closer counts these days and it was a great day to get out for a ride.
Bike of the Month Contest
Larry Horn of Huntington Beach took First place with his 1957 Ariel Square Four Mark II.
Larry has won with every bike he's brought to the meet, even his daughter won two months ago with her 1959 Triumph Tiger Cub 200. This is Larry's third win.
Leonard Liboon of Huntington Beach took Second place with his 100% original, stock 1974 Kawasaki Z1A 900. Leonard just purchased this bike with 800 original miles on it. Appearently it was in a museum for most of it's life, and has now been let out to be ridden.
Shawn Boeker of Garden Grove took Third place with his pristine 1966 BMW R60/2. Shawn usually rides his modern BMW with a sidecar. Today he brought two bikes. He's owned the completely restored R60 for six months.
