Huntington Beach, Calif. - A bit cloudy today and it may have kept some at home, but we had a great meet and 98 people risked getting wet to come out and enjoy the afternoon. 66 people were there at the start of the meet. We had a lot of new people and bikes.
Bike of the Month Contest
With so many new people and new bikes many of the bikes got a few votes, but we had one clear winner.
Hobo John of Costa Mesa took First place with his 1931 Indian Scout 101.
John has been involved with this meet since it's inception, and has been bringing the Indian off and on for the past few years.
Victor Tripple of Long Beach took Second place with his rare 1978 Harley Davidson XLCR-1000. According to Victor, this factory built Caf was a failure when it was brought out and many sat in the dealerships for months. Harley ended up only building 3000 of the model. This one has Robinson Thunder Heads, one of 300 bikes with these heads.
Tie for Third Place
Again Shawn Boeker of Garden Grove took Third place with his pristine 1966 BMW R60/2.
Although this month he tied with Stanley Tang of Aliso Viejo with his very custom 1982 Yamaha Virago. There isn't much left on Stanley's bike that's Virago except the engine.
