VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - The rain held off until this evening and we had yet another perfect afternoon in Huntington Beach. Today wraps up our first year at Mr. Pete's Grill. Pete and Eleni Konstantopoulos have been great hosts. It keeps getting better. Today we had 74 bikes at 2:00 and by the time the official count was in there were 116.

We had a lot of very nice bikes today. Bill Melvin gathered some votes for his 1965 Yamaha 250 Ascot, but just not enough for the top three. Steve Mitzner was back with his 1938 Indian 4, he won Bike of the Month back in July 2010. And I wanted to mention Jack Chalabian from K Jack Motors LLC in Gardena, and his reproduction of the Cushman motor scooters. K-Jack has been in business for 55 years and their entire scooter line can be seen at www.kjackmotors.com

Bike of the Month
Bill Perrone of Huntington Beach took first place easily with his 1960 Moto Guzzi Falconi. Bill won a Mr. Pete's Grill gift certificate. Bill has owned the bike since July after it came over from Italy. The blue color is rare for Moto Guzzi, it was originally sold to the Italian Government for the Bureau of Internal Affairs. Second Place
Roland Ortiz of Laguna Niguel took Second place with his 1968 Bultaco 250 Metralla. Roland said the Metralla was the fastest production 2 stroke in it's day. Designed to ride on the street all week and take to the track on the weekend. He has owned the bike for four years. Roland is the owner of Euro Papi Motorcycle Streetwear in Laguna Beach and has supported our group for many years.

Third Place
Mark Cilani of Newport Beach took Third place with his 1974 Yamah RD350 Race bike. Mark has owned the bike for a year, and says it was originally one of Kenny Roberts racing bikes.
