VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - It was a windy Mother's Day today in HB today. It was a little lighter turnout due to the holiday but 70 people showed up to show their bikes. On behalf of our group, Al Haskell of Newport Beach (June 2009 Bike of the Month winner) presented Beach Burgers owner June Lee with some nice Mother's Day flowers.

We wanted show June our appreciation for all her support of our group since 2009. Thank you Al for thinking of June today. Debbie and Tom Hopkins weren't able to attend today due to the holiday. We wish Debbie and all the mothers in our group a Happy Mother's Day.

Bike of the Month
We had a good solid First Place win by Ray Anderson of Gardena with his perfectly restored 1963 Yamaha YG1.
Ray won the $20.00 Beach Burger's gift certificate provided by Beach Burgers and The Scooter Solution. Ray first bought a YG1 when he was 15 years old. He has owned this bike for 15 years and finally after 14 years of collecting parts just finished his two month restoration.

Second Place
Chad Williams of Costa Mesa took Second place with his 1969 Honda CB350 Sportsman 350 Class Racer. This is an American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association AHRMA class compliant bike. Chad races all over, but just competed in the Corsa Moto Classica at Willow Springs Raceway.

Third Place Tie
There was a tie for Third place. Victor Triple of Long Beach and his rare 1978 Harley Davidson XLCR. Victor is a long time member and won Bike of the Month in March 2011 with his 1968 BSA Firebird Scrambler

For the seventh time, Shawn Boeker of Garden Grove tied for Third place with his pristine 1966 BMW R60/2. Almost always in the top three when he brings this bike, I'm hoping he wins soon.
