Huntington Beach, Calif. -
The weather was awesome today for a meet. I arrived at 1:40 and felt like I was late for the party. There were already 25 bikes in the lot. When the official count was done we had 97 bikes but 120 people voted for Bike of the Month.
Once again it seemed like the Germans were out in force today we had at least 8 BMWs and one Zundapp. We also had a nice collection of 4 Honda CBX 1000s and several Kawasaki dirt bikes. Overall it was a great meet.
Bike of the Month
Mike Dunn of Riverside took First place with his custom 1939 Zudapp KS600. This is Mike's third Bike of the Month win. Mike won the $20.00 Beach Burger's gift certificate provided by Beach Burgers and The Scooter Solution.
Second Place - Tie
Once again we had a tie, this month a tie for second place between Mark Baker and Ken Crites.
Mark Baker of Yorba Linda brought his nearly original 1972 Suzuki GT750J. Nicknamed the Water Buffalo, the GT750 was Suzuki's first water cooled bike.
Ken Crites of Huntington Beach came on his wicked 1970 Honda CT70. This wild custom had more hand made bits than I could list, including hand laid carbon fiber fenders and seat pan.
I hope both Mark and Ken bring their bikes back for another shot at first place.
