VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Yes, another perfect day in HB. The weather must have been in the high 70's with a clear blue sky. It is January, right? I pulled in a few minutes after 2:00 and almost fell over. There were already 40 plus bikes in the lot. Everyone was looking at me, like where the hell have you been. I had to check my watch, and I actually verified the time with a few people.

New Record, 55 bikes
I only counted once, at about 2:30 we had 50 bikes. At least 5 to 10 people came in after my count. I'm saying 55 conservatively. 47 people voted today for Bike of the Month, almost too many people for me to manage. I'm going to come up with some new methods for the Bike of the Month contest and voting to make it easier on me. Quick Throttle Magazine has listed our event, I think the listing, the weather plus your word of mouth has really helped boost our turnout.

Bike of the Month
Bill Blaty of Huntington Beach won Bike of the Month with his 1969 Hodaka Trials Bike. Bill did a very nice job building this bike up from a pile of parts. The voting was spread pretty thin this month, many bikes got a few votes. The second most popular bike was the 1935 Harley Davidson VL owned by John Carvaly of Orange. Steve Brockman came in third with his 1967 Triumph Bonneville.
