VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - We had great March weather for the meet today. Aside from a few clouds it was perfect. At 2:00 we already had 70 bikes in the lot, and by final count 122. A lot of new bikes that I haven't seen before including a brand that I've never heard of.

Bike of the Month
Like last month we had a lot of great bikes today and the battle for Bike of the Month was close for the top two spots. Most of the votes went to these two bikes.

First Place
Norm Cain of Huntington Beach won Bike of the Month with his 1962 Panther M120. Norm won a Mr. Pete's Grill gift certificate. Panthers are fairly rare, I've never heard of the brand. Norm picked this one up in January in Las Vegas at the Mecum Auction. Read all about the M120 on our Bike of the Month page.

Second Place
Robert Beaver of Lake Forest came in a close Second with his 1966 BMW R60/2. Bob has owned it for 14 months. When he got it it was in fairly rough shape with a bent frame. The engine was rebuilt by Tom of Irv Seaver and some of the paint was done by Rock & Roll Paint in Orange.

Third Place
Bruce Bartolomeo of Huntington Beach took Third with his 1973 Triumph Daytona 500. This bike has been in Bruce's family since it was new. His brother bought it new in 1973 an Bruce bought it from him a few years later. The one year restoration was just recently completed.
