VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - I rolled in at 1:50, and there was already 10 bikes at Beach Burgers. The weather was great, and I knew that we would have a great meet. 65 bikes was the official count, an awesome turnout.

Again we had a wide variety of bikes for the Bike of the Month competition. We love those Indians, Rob Meyers of Mission Viejo won Bike of the Month with his 1942 Indian 741-B military bike that he's owned since 1998. The bike came out of a museum in England, and looks like a museum piece.

Jeb Bugaren of Placentia also gathered many votes for his 1950 Norton Model 18. Jeb has owned the Norton for 25 years and finished the restoration 22 years ago. Jeb worked for Bill Getty of JRC Engineering in Perris CA for 10 years and acquired this Norton during that time.

Old World Oktoberfest
If you live in OC, or anywhere near HB, you probably know about Old World and their Oktoberfest. Today we had a special visit by five Old World Shot Girls, who just happened to be driving by and thought that our group may enjoy some Oktoberfest coupons. I thought that was mighty neighborly of those young ladies, and invited them back any time. If you have the opportunity, you may want to pay a visit to our neighbors during Oktoberfest September 5th - October 31.

Nimbus Twins
Two rare Nimbus motorcycles were at the meet today, a 1949 and a 1954. The Nimbus was manufactured in Denmark. They are unique in their flat steel frame, inline 750cc four with external valves. Both of the owners were members of the Nimbus Motorcycle Club of America. They promise to bring some more members with them next time. These were truely unique bikes.
