VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - October 10, 2010 - 10/10/10 a great date for a great meet. I was hoping for an overflow crowd today because of the perfect 80° weather. As it turned out we had a great meet with 52 bikes as the official count.

I showed up early today at 1:30. Tim from Motozania.com was already at Beach Burgers. By 2:00 we already had about a dozen bikes.

We had a wide variety of bikes today, but three of them truely stood out. Nathan Mattson of Costa Mesa won Bike of the Month with his 1950 Triumph Thunderbird custom. A very minimalistic bobber, nothing but chrome and black. Gerhard Schnuerer came in a close second with his 1943 BMW R75 Military Sidecar motorcycle and Mike Jongblood (Mr. Velocette) came in third with his very cool 1965 Ducati Mach I.

Zero Emissions
Ok, I know that most of us Love the smell of Premium in the morning, but Frank Colver brought his brand new Zero DS electric motorcycle for us to check out. I know it's not vintage, but when Frank told me he bought it, I asked him to bring it to the meet. I guess you have to put playing cards in the spokes if you want that motorcycle sound.
