VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Happy Mother's Day! It was a little lighter this month due to Mother's Day, but we still had a fantastic meet. The weather was cool and a bit cloudy while 55 people showed up to show of their bikes and to vote on their favorite.

The good news is, I'm home and have power. You may remember last month the update was a couple days late due to a power outage in my neighborhood.

This month only ten bikes were offically in the contest for Bike of the Month. Overall there were approximately twenty vintage bikes, including three former winners and several that weren't interested in competing.

Bike of the Month was won easily by Larry Horn of Huntington Beach with his 1955 Velocette MSS. Larry has own his restored classic for 30 years. Larry also owns a very cool Norvin which he normally brings to our meet. His Norvin is always a croud favorite. In case you're not familiar, it's a Norton frame with a Vincent engine.

Second place went to Robert Radbone with his 1980 Honda CB-X 1000 six cylinder bike. This CB-X is one of the rare U.S.A. assembled Honda's from 1980. Third place went to David Palmer for his 1972 Moto Guzzi Eldorado.

Many thanks to June Lee, owner of Beach Burgers not only for hosting our event, but now providing a Gift Certificate to the winner. Thank you to our Trophy Girl Debbie Hopkins for providing our Trophy.

Once again I had a great team helping with the event. Thank you Debbie & Tom Hopkins helping with voting and counting and Brian TINK Tinkler for shooting hundreds of photos.
