Huntington Beach, Calif. - Stand back, I don't know how big this thing's gonna get... 166 bikes today! Another incredible record. Thankfully I had a lot of great help and we got through it. 60 bikes before 2:00PM nobody forgot to change their clocks...

There were more than 54 vintage bikes. We had a lot of new bikes in the mix. Next month we are going to try to corral the vintage bikes to the fire lane so that it will be a more consolidated collection. But controlling bikers is a lot like herding cats.

The Bike of the Month vote was extreamly close. Victor Tripple of Long Beach won by one vote with his 1968 BSA Firebird Scrambler 650. 100% original and unrestored. There's more about this bike on the Bike of the Month page.

One vote behind was Brian Pearson of Dana Point with his 1967 BSA Spitfire. The vote was originally a tie that was broken by someone who hadn't voted. Brian also conceded to Victor's Scrambler. Brian has owned his bike for less than a year and bought it as is. Both of these BSA's were worthy of the win, so there are plenty of photos of both.

Confusion over Third Place
As of this writing, I now realize that Mike Jongblood (Mr. Velocette) came in third with his very cool 1965 Ducati Mach I. Mike and I both had thought that he had won with this bike which would have disqualified for the running. Actually he only came in third place once before back in October 2010.

Forth place went to Rick Haas of Lake Forest with his totally original 1980 Honda CB-X six cylinder bike. Rick was in third place last month. This bike is always a favorite.

I had plenty of help today. Thank you to all who helped, Especially Debbie & Tom Hopkins helping with voting and counting and Brian TINK Tinkler for shooting hundreds of photos. Brian and I shot over 300 photos today, and 271 of them made it into the gallery.
