VINTAGE BIKE OC NEWS

Huntington Beach, Calif. - This update is a bit late thanks to the entire power grid being down in my neighborhood on Sunday evening for 13 hours. We had a great meet on Sunday, 102 bikes total with over 50 vintage bikes in the competition. Our new "Vintage Corral" worked out well.

We had a great contest for the Bike of the Month. The winning bike was a 1970 Parilla built by Todd Milar and Tom Rightmeyer of Laguna Beach. Robert Bryson and Rolando Ortiz of our sponsor Laguna Beach Euro Papi, brought it to the meet along with four other classic racing bikes.

Second place went to Jim Bradford with his unique 1942 Welbike. The folding WWII British Paratrooper bike is 1 of 50 left in existance from the 4000 built for the war. The Welbike is powered by a 98cc Villers single.

Angelo Tafarella turned many heads with his 3rd place 1976 Rokon Ranger painted in camo and decked out for war. This two-wheel drive monster was built in New Hampshire and is powered by a Westbend Super Bee 90cc engine.

Many thanks to June Lee, owner of Beach Burgers not only for hosting our event, but now providing a Gift Certificate to the winner. Thank you Debbie Hopkins for providing our Trophy.
