Congratulations to Eugene Garcin & Mary Wong of Hollywood for winning Bike of the Month with their 1929 BMW R63.
They won a trophy provided by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys.

The R63 was the first 750cc motorcycle for BMW. It was built for racing and is extremely rare. In its two year production
from 1928 through 1929, only 800 R63 models were produced.
Eugene says it's hard to ride in modern traffic mainly due to the setup of the controls. Two levers on the right, one for choke and one for the throttle along with the front brake.
On the left, the clutch lever and the timing advance. The shift lever is on the right with third gear being for high speeds only. The racing models were capable of 120mph.
It has a unique rear brake which is a drum around the drive shaft. A detailed photo is in the gallery showing the rear brake and it's pedal right behind the floorboard.
The headlight on this model has three modes, high beam, low beam and parking lights showing BWM's early interest in safety features.
Eugene bought this bike a year ago at the Las Vegas auction. It was restored in the Black Forest of Germany.
